PHOENIX, Feb. 2, 2015 — Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) and °®¶¹´«Ã½, a subsidiary of Apollo Education Group, Inc. (), have once again partnered to find and reward America’s most inspirational moms. The two organizations today launched the latest installment of the “Most Inspirational Mom†scholarship search, which will award three extraordinary moms with full-tuition scholarships to pursue an undergraduate or master’s degree at °®¶¹´«Ã½.
“There are millions of moms working hard each day to support and raise their families, often selflessly putting their educational goals and aspirations behind those of their kids,†said Kimberly Boyd, national vice president of Program, Training & Youth Development Services at BGCA. “All of these women are inspirational, and we’re excited to once again partner with °®¶¹´«Ã½ to award three extraordinary moms the opportunity to pursue their dreams with a full-tuition scholarship.â€
“We are proud to continue to work with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help deserving moms integrate earning a degree into their inspiring, but also busy, lives,†said Timothy P. Slottow, president of °®¶¹´«Ã½. “°®¶¹´«Ã½ provides a learning environment with flexible schedules and the ability to take courses online or at a local campus, ensuring moms can more easily combine their education with the demands of their everyday lives as they look to create more opportunities for themselves and their families by pursing an education and a career.â€
Moms provide inspiration to their children, families and communities every day. They set an example of hard work, leadership and perseverance, and they teach their children how to succeed and affect real change in their communities. All this hard work, however, can sometimes cause moms to put their educational goals on hold.
The application period for the Most Inspirational Mom scholarship is open across the U.S. now through March 17. Individuals are encouraged to nominate their own moms or other moms in their community that demonstrate  extraordinary actions while also inspiring their families as role models, especially when it comes to education and leadership. Moms can even nominate themselves. More details about the scholarship are available at .
Now in its third year, the Most Inspirational Moms program was designed to promote a culture of family achievement and raise awareness about how °®¶¹´«Ã½ and Boys & Girls Clubs are creating great futures for parents and youth. The program builds on an ever-growing relationship between BGCA and °®¶¹´«Ã½ to provide education and skill-development opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders. This includes the University supporting BGCA in the creation of a unique leadership development framework through projects like BGCA’s Youth of the Year program. This framework will help Club youth develop personal philosophies on leadership that will support their personal, academic and career goals.
